Robert Kuta (b. 1988) Works in drawing, painting and creates clothing-objects. In 2012 he defended his diploma in painting in the Interdisciplinary Studio I (Interdisciplinary Department, Faculty of Painting) with Prof. Zbigniew Bajek, Ph.D., an annex in drawing in the Drawing Studio I (Drawing and Painting Department, Faculty of Graphic Arts ) with Prof. Joanna Kaiser-Plaskowska, Ph.D., at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. He held a six-month scholarship at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań (Painting Studio II, Prof. Dominik Lejman, Ph.D., UAP) and a six-month scholarship at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (Painting Studio, Prof. Jarosław Modzelewski). His works are in the collection of the National Museum in Cracow and the Frederic Chopin Museum in Warsaw.
In his works he engages in a dialogue with 20th century painting, with the great abstractionists, cubists and masters of pop art. Echoes of the paintings of Eugeniusz Markowski, among others, can be found in Kuta's work. The artist likes to use recycled materials such as fragments of old furniture or clothes. He does not like to get attached to one medium, and often experiments with different techniques achieving very original effects. Robert Kuta's style is characterized by a strong expression of gesture and bold use of color. His energetic compositions - both abstract and figurative - have a fresh, one would like to say "youthful" energy that lends itself to those who interact with them.
