Stanisław Jakubowski (1885–1964), painter, printmaker, draftsman, and educator, associated with Kraków. He studied at the School of Wood Industry in Stanisławów and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków. He became famous primarily as an outstanding graphic artist and master of woodcut, creating numerous portfolios of prints, bookplates, and compositions inspired by Slavic culture and mythology. His work was distinguished by an interest in folk ornamentation and Proto-Slavic cultural heritage. He was also a respected educator, conservator of monuments, and researcher of folk art, actively participating in the artistic life of Kraków.
