Sławomir Szereda (b. 1956) is a graduate of the State Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź, where he studied from 1976 to 1982. He earned his diploma in the Department of Printmaking and Painting in the studios of Professors L. Rózga and S. Fijałkowski. He is among the most renowned artists who depict horses in their work. Horses are, in fact, his lifelong passion, and his keen observation and repeated exploration of the subject are intertwined with his practice of horseback riding. The image of horses has always been present in his work, and his creative journey has its roots in a fascination with the great art of such Polish artists as Chełmoński, Michałowski, Brandt, and the Kossaks. Today, his mature and original style stems from the interplay of these influences with his own creative nature. His works are part of prestigious collections in Poland and in many European countries, as well as in the U.S., Canada, and Arab countries. He has participated in numerous group exhibitions in Poland, Germany, Sweden, and Canada. Solo exhibitions: In Blanco Gallery, Łódź; Poleski Art Center Gallery, Łódź; Bistro Vechta Gallery, Germany; La Nouvelle Gallery, Schwahbach, Germany; Am Theater Gallery, Furth, Germany; Nowa Gdynia Gallery, Zgierz; European Institute, Łódź; BWA, Sieradz.
