The Warsaw manufactory of J. Fraget was one of the most important producers of silver and plated goods in Central and Eastern Europe in the 19th and early 20th centuries. The company, operating in the reality of the Russian partition, adapted its markings to the regulations in force, as exemplified by the use of the "84" sample and state symbolism, including the double-headed eagle of the Russian Empire.
Cutlery sets of this type were a popular fixture in bourgeois and aristocratic households, serving both a utilitarian and representative function. The presence of the original brand box significantly increases the collector value of the set, testifying to its completeness and preservation of its original commercial character.
From the point of view of the antiquarian market, Fraget products remain highly valued due to the quality of workmanship, brand recognition and the historical context of production in Warsaw under the Russian partition. The presented set, preserved complete and bearing legible markings, is a representative example of elegant table culture at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.
