A very rare, legendary variety—bearing the inscription "TOCIS " instead of the typical "TOCI."
Its rarity is clearly demonstrated by the fact that, despite the specialized catalog by Grzegorz Romańczyk listing exactly 100 varieties and variants of the 1530 Toruń groszy, this one is not described!
And it is unique not only for this particular year but also for all Toruń groszy from this ruler’s reign.Out of approximately one hundred obverse dies of Toruń groszy, only two feature a different spelling of the word “TOCIVS” than the typical “TOCI.” This one, undescribed in the aforementioned catalog and classified as the rarest of all, bears the inscription TOCIV (GT1530_41 R*).
This is a variant with an erroneous spelling of the royal title, where the letter V is mistakenly missing from the word “całych” (TOCIVS).
Probably making its auction debut!
