A highly interesting siege issue from the Napoleonic Wars, struck during the defense of the Zamość fortress in 1813. These coins are an exceptional testimony to the dramatic wartime events and the determination of the defenders, who were forced to create their own money for everyday circulation.
Variety with longer wreath branches, with the numbers 1 and 3 close to each other in the date.
Attractive coin in about uncirculated. The siege coins of Zamość from 1813 rank among the most fascinating and sought-after Polish numismatic issues of the Napoleonic era. Struck in very limited quantities under the difficult circumstances of the siege, they today stand as both a rare numismatic treasure and a tangible witness to Polish history.ulated condition.
Plenty of mint bloom.
Hints of mint luster.
