Małgorzata Z. Maćkowiak studied in the atelier of Prof. Jan Szancenbach at the Faculty of Painting of the Cracow Academy of Fine Arts. She received her diploma with distinction in 1982. She received a scholarship from the Ministry of Culture and Art. She does monumental painting as well as painting, drawing and illustration for children and creates artistic puppets. She also carries out her own educational projects working with teachers and children. Co-founder of the Polish Artistic Puppet Association, operating at the Jozef Wilkoń's Arka Foundation.
