Adolf KÜRLE
1865 Cassel - 1912 Berlin
German sculptor and painter working mainly in Berlin. He trained as a portrait painter in Kassel. In 1896 he exhibited paintings at the Kunstverein in Bremen. Later, sculpture came to the fore. In 1900, at the Great Art Exhibition in Berlin, he presented Fontanne "Dorothea, which was featured in Archiekturwelt. His major works include the Wissman Monument in Daressalam (1909), the Colonial Wars Monument in Windhoek (1909) and the Bismarck Monument in Altona.
