E.XXIV, 6; XXII, 122; XXXII, 452. A collection of historical documents concerning the Bar Confederation, translated into French. The volume contains the texts of 42 documents from the years 1764–1769 (manifestos, acts of the confederation, instructions, proclamations, speeches, declarations, and excerpts). Among the authors of the documents are, among others: Radziwiłł, Chreptowicz, Pociey, Wielhorski, Repnin, Marian Potocki, Golicyn, “He describes in detail the oppression by Moscow” (Estreicher). The initiative to compile this publication is attributed to Michał Jan Pac (1730–1787), Lithuanian General Marshal of the Bar Confederation and owner of Dowspuda and Krzyżtopór Castle; the task was most likely carried out by Ignacy Bohusz (1720–1778), secretary of the Confederation’s General Staff. The front endpaper bears a label from the Parisian bookseller Jean Clavreuil. There is slight discoloration and staining in places; otherwise, the book is in very good condition. A valuable source for the history of the Bar Confederation. Rare.
