Mongini, Horse Heads, Gilded Bronze Sculpture, Edition I/III, 40 x 33 x 20 cm.

This dynamic gilded bronze sculpture depicts three horse heads arranged in a multi-level relief composition. The work features an expressive, textured surface, with modern-style modeling that accentuates the sense of movement. The horses are portrayed with different expressions, including the top figure with its mouth open. The sculpture features an all-over gilded finish with a dark patina in the recessed areas to emphasize the volumes. A signature legible as “Mongini” is engraved on the base or side of the textured structure, accompanied by the edition number indicated as I/III, as visible in the close-up detail (photo 2). The piece rests on an irregular, textured base cast as a single piece with the rest of the body. The casting appears solid and well-defined, with a sculptural quality that reflects the lost-wax technique.
