Sculptor working mainly in ceramics, author of recognizable figures with synthetic
form and expressive symbolism. In his work he combines the tradition of sculpture with the
modern language of forms, creating animal and anthropomorphic representations
full of humor and expressive power. His works can be found in museum collections and
public spaces, including those in Krakow and Warsaw, as well as in numerous collections
private collections in Poland and abroad.
Sculpture from the artist's characteristic series of zoomorphic representations. A wild boar with a
compact, synthetic form was shown in a monumental view, with an emphasis on the
the strength and weight of the body. The shiny, dark glaze surface with a pearly sheen
is broken by details in gilding, which introduce an element of nobility and
ironic elegance. The work combines sculptural precision and a sense of humor
typical of Dydo's work, balancing between contemporary form, symbolism and
classics.
The motif of the wild boar has symbolized strength, independence and untamed nature for centuries. W
European and Slavic culture this animal was associated with courage, fertility and the power of the
of the earth, treating it as a guardian of primal instincts. In Mariusz
Dydo the wild boar becomes a contemporary sign of energy and identity - captured with irony, but
also with admiration for its irrepressible power.
