He began his studies in 1946 at the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Gdansk, and at the same time served his military service in the Navy. From 1949, he studied at the Department of Sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, where he was entrusted with assistant duties from 1950. He collaborated with prominent artists Prof. Tadeusz Breyer and Prof. Marian Wnuk. In 1959 he initiated the establishment of the Metal Department at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts, of which he was the organizer.

The most important place in his work was occupied by the female nude, which was the main motive of his interests. There are sculptural realizations of this theme in several Polish cities.

The artist also worked creatively in bas-relief and linocut, in which one can find nautical and military themes related to his personal experiences and experiences. He has also designed medals and commemorative plaques in many cities and collaborated in the design of exhibition and scenographic forms. He has had 15 solo exhibitions at home and abroad.
