Lives and works in Olsztyn. He does painting (mainly mixed technique on paper), sculpture and printmaking. The type of Jan Pruski's work goes beyond the classical understanding of painting. It consists, among other things, in the unusual influence and surprising manifestation of convention as a formal structure that has yet to be transformed. These actions are not completely detached from any progressive phenomena in the art of the past 20th century, but rather are close to certain currents of matter painting with a predilection to break away from the traditional, conventionally understood and treated painting plane (illusory or literal). In this way, the creative process is an effect toward the pursuit of the artistic object, which becomes more of an object, a fetish, a totem of some plastic idea, rather than a framed good.
