Among the most commonly used were nephrite and the very title agate.
Warmet - a famous Warsaw factory with branches throughout Poland. It was established as a result of the nationalization of private enterprises in 1951 and their further transformation, including into Wytwórnia Wyrobów Jubilerskich. It has been known by its current name since 1969 when Wytwórnia Wyrobów Jubilerskich (from which the famous "reed" - Warmet's signature made up of the letters WWJ) was renamed the Precious Metals Products Factory "Warmet".
