Painter and printmaker, Young Poland landscape painter. From 1900-1908 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow with J. Mehoffer, L. Wyczółkowski, J. Pankiewicz and J. Stanislawski, who had a strong influence on his work. He was considered one of the most prominent representatives of the "Stanislawski school." He debuted in 1899 with a series of Tatra landscapes exhibited at TPSP. In 1905 he became a member of the Vienna "secession". From 1908 he was a member of TAP art. During World War I, he served in the Legions. He participated in Art Nouveau exhibitions in Berlin, Munich, Vienna, as well as international exhibitions in Dresden, Rome, Venice and Polish exhibitions in the USA, London, Vienna and Paris. He taught at the Industrial School in Cracow and later at the Academy of Fine Arts, where he was appointed associate professor. During World War II, he participated in the resistance movement and underground activities. He painted landscapes of the Tatra and Podhale Mountains, landscapes from Radziszów near Krakow, where he spent his vacations, and in later years also seaside views. He also painted decorative still lifes with bouquets of flowers. He was involved in printmaking, illustration, poster and medal design.
