Katarzyna Makieła-Organisty was born in 1984 in Hrubieszów. She graduated from the Bernard Morand State High School of Fine Arts in Zamosc. From 2004 to 2009 she studied in the atelier of Prof. Stanisław Rodziński at the Faculty of Painting of the Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. In 2012, she received a doctorate of fine arts in the discipline of fine arts. Since 2009, she has been working at her alma mater, currently as an assistant professor in the painting studio of Dr. Janusz Matuszewski, Prof. of the Academy of Fine Arts. Her works are regularly presented at solo and group exhibitions at home and abroad. She uses classical painting techniques - she does oil painting, uses yolk tempera, and is also interested in book illustration and collage. She systematically keeps sketchbooks. The subjects of her paintings are mainly still life, but also landscapes, portraits. Realism is closest to her, often contrasted with flat, synthetic geometric forms.
