Tempera on wood panel
A classic late 19th-century representation of the Apostles Peter and Paul, standing before a stylized church under the Holy Spirit. This type of icon was popular for its clear, vibrant imagery. The piece is housed in its original dark-stained wooden kiot with a prominent gilded inner bevel, which beautifully frames the central scene. Chromolithography on metal or paper mounted on wood, original gilded inner frame and wood kiot (case). 16.5 x 14 cm
