Student of Leon Wyczółkowski and Teodor Axentowicz at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow (1907-8, 1911-13, 1919-20) and a student of the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts from 1916. He lived in Zakopane. In 1925 he traveled to the Middle East - to Palestine and Egypt, from which he brought back numerous landscapes. He painted views of the Tatra Mountains, genre scenes and portraits. Displaced by the Germans from Zakopane, he returned to his hometown of Lodz, where he most likely died. He was a member of the Podhale Artists Association.
