Born into a landed gentry family in the Zubrza estate near Lviv. At the age of 17
left the family home and became a free student at the Academy of Fine Arts in
Cracow. Having no material support from his family, he started working at a factory of
of chandeliers and wall lamps. In the 1930s he moved to Warsaw. The artist established there
his own studio, as well as an art salon and a picture-framing business. After the Warsaw Uprising
Warsaw uprising he was sent to a labor camp. After the war ended, he settled temporarily in
Walbrzych, while in the 1950s he returned to Warsaw, settling in Komorów near Warsaw.
Warsaw. In his work, he was inspired by the paintings of Munich painters.
He painted seascapes, horses, harnesses, genre scenes, still lifes, oriental motifs
Oriental themes and portraits. His works are in collections in Austria, the Netherlands,
United States.
