From the review by Maciej Monkiewicz: Great independence and dexterity in the exploitation of otherwise familiar motifs , as well as stylistic features befitting the mannerism used by Luca Giordano to
painting small paintings in the first half of the 1880s, support the authorship of the master himself. However, due to certain weaknesses in the workmanship (the figure and face of the Child, the faces of the
angels), one cannot exclude the possibility that this work was created in Luca Giordano's workshop, although undoubtedly under his personal control, as a kind of conceptual exercise.
