MOUNTAINOUS LANDSCAPE WITH RIVER AND TEMPLE COMPLEX
Oil on canvas. Doubled.
80.5 x 64.5 cm.
In a magnificent gilt frame.

View from an elevated vantage point of high cliffs, mostly overgrown with shrubs and trees, on the upper plateau of which a complex with a round temple and, opposite it, a church or monastery complex can be seen in front of a river cascading into the depths. In the lower part of the painting, the further course of the river is visible through a rock arch. At the lower edge are three young women, two of whom are filling a basket with flowers, while another is carrying a small basket filled with flowers on her head. Harmonious, calm landscape depiction in restrained colors, lightened by the women's colorful clothing. (1410807) (18)
