Rare badge associated with the Lwów Choral Society "Harfa", one of the most active Polish amateur choirs in interwar Lviv. The Society originated in 1915, when a group of secondary-school students founded the "Harfa" Singing Circle. In 1916, Roman Belohlavek assumed its artistic direction, and the ensemble soon began performing regularly at patriotic celebrations and concerts. In September 1922, the organisation officially adopted the name Lviv Choral Society "Harfa".
The Society maintained an exceptionally active artistic programme, organising its own concerts and participating in numerous musical and patriotic events in Lwów and throughout the region. Its repertoire included works by leading Polish and European composers, and the choir collaborated with prominent conductors of the period. By the end of the 1920s, the ensemble had given approximately 300 performances, becoming one of the best-known amateur choirs in Lviv.
The present badge depicts a stylised harp, the traditional symbol of music and the emblem of the Society. Along the frame of the instrument appears the inscription "Lw. Tow. Śpiew. Harfa", clearly identifying the organisation. The composition is complemented by a decorative female figure and elaborate foliate ornamentation, emphasizing the representative character of the badge.
The nut is unsigned.
