On the obverse: crowned S, below Rose in the cartouche; legend SOLI REG (Rose) POL 1596, on the reverse: crowned coats of arms - of the Vasa family in the cartouche, below the Crown and Lithuania below Lewart in the cartouche, on the sides letters I-F, legend SIGI 3 D G REX PO M D L. Crown shillings of Sigismund III Vasa, are exceptionally diverse coins minted at several mints, representing an interesting and still underrated collector's subject. Despite so far, not very high rarity ratings in catalogs, most of them are extremely difficult to collect due to poor minting in coinage silver - here a nicely preserved piece with a fine luster.
