A rare portrait type for this vintage - with a large king's head (massive), but with a smaller robe and wig (hair without raised tendrils). Type not presented in Helmut Kahnt's catalog.
Type also not included in Peter Anuszczyk's study, due to suspicions that it is a Prussian forgery, the so-called efraimek. It joins the reverse with another rare portrait we had in the history of the company, where we presented a broader argument about the issue.
Nice luster and detail.
