Destructions of modern coins are indeed rare. Technological development of the State Mint, refinement of their minting process, automation of quality control, have resulted in minting errors becoming a big treat for numismatists. This is especially true of commemorative coins minted in markedly lower mintages than the so-called "circulation" coins, such as the two-zloty coins in Nordic Gold alloy.
Throughout the company's history, we could count the destructions of these twos on the fingers of two hands. This one is one of the most impressive.
It's a two-gold minted on a puck cracked in the middle.
So far, we've had defects associated with a poorly prepared 2 NG puck only 2 times - the first time it was a coin with a bulging puck(23/1659), and the second time a coin delaminated after it was struck(6/3031).
Minting on a "half" disc we have for the first time.
The coin is uncirculated, with the typical minting on a thinner disc deficiencies.
Nordic gold, diameter 27 mm, weight 3.92 g.
