Franciszek Wójcik (1903–1984) was a painter associated with the Zakopane art scene and a student at the State Industrial School in Lviv. From 1932 to 1939, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków under, among others, Sichulski, Weiss, Jarocki, and Kamocki. In 1938, he left for Rome on a one-year scholarship, where he organized his first solo exhibition abroad. After returning to Poland, he lived in Zakopane and actively participated in the local art scene. He painted landscapes, portraits, and still lifes; his numerous Tatra landscapes reveal the influence of Kamocki’s work. The Tytus Chałubiński Tatra Museum hosted an exhibition as part of a series showcasing the work of artists from the Zakopane art scene, featuring selected landscapes by Franciszek Wójcik from the collection of the artist’s granddaughter.
