YOLA KUDELA
Visual artist and multimedia director combining street art, film, and the visual arts. A graduate of PWSFTViT—the National Film, Television, and Theater School in Łódź (majoring in animation and VFX)—and CFT Gobelins in Paris.
For many years, she worked as a VFX artist and supervisor on international film productions, including *Harry Potter*, *The Chronicles of Narnia*, *Dark Shadows*, and global advertising campaigns. Today, she brings this experience working with digital imagery and its illusions into her artistic practice, where she combines manual techniques—collage, photographic transfer, engraving, and acrylic—with new media and augmented reality (AR).
Her works have been exhibited in Europe, South America, Australia, and Asia. Her street art series *Blind Leading the Blind* has become an international manifesto against populism and pseudo-leaders. In her art, Kudela juxtaposes critical social commentary with formal experimentation, exploring the boundaries of materiality and the transience of the image.
At the same time, she works as a film director and producer, creating projects that have won awards at international festivals, and she also collaborates on innovative projects combining animation, archival materials, and new media. Her latest series—including one centered on the film *Empty State*—explore the tension between civilizational catastrophe and the possibility of renewal, combining the tangible trace with the ephemerality of the digital image.
IMAGE DESCRIPTION: The gesture of a figure embracing the globe is simultaneously an act of creation, appropriation, and destruction. It is a vision of a human being who, while demarcating the boundaries of their dominion, also records the traces of civilization’s collapse.
