Biography
Graduated from the Faculty of Sculpture at Warsaw's Academy of Fine Arts in the studio of Professor Jan Kucz in 1999, his art oscillates around the problems of late capitalism, excessive consumerism and contemporary mass media. Zasadni developed his characteristic visual language based on the aesthetics of kitsch and grotesque characteristic of color magazines, advertisements or the iconosphere of the communist Poland. As an artist, he ironically refers to the socio-political realities of the time. He is an observer of mundane everyday life, which he analyzes through artistic transformation. He has solo exhibitions to his credit, including: "Frozen Food" at the Center for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle in Warsaw (1999); "Frozen Food and Other Objects" at the ON Gallery in Poznań (2000), "Natural Environment" at the Kont Gallery in Lublin (2001), "Everything is Ugly" at the Academia Gallery in Salzburg; and group exhibitions, including: "ViennAfair" in Vienna (2006; 2007), "Blue Fire. 2nd Biennial of Young Artists" in Prague (1999), "Art Fair" in Moscow (2003) or "Jetzt" at the Beck & Eggeling Gallery in Düsseldorf.
