A precursor of conceptualism and op-art, a figure who went down in the pages of the contemporary history of Polish art, exerting a great influence on the Wroclaw art community. She co-founded the Seeking Form and Color groups, the Wroclaw Group, and was associated with the Mona Lisa Gallery run by Jerzy Ludwinski. She educated generations of students. In 1945-1952, she studied at the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Wroclaw. She received her diploma in the studio of Prof. J. Geppert. Since 1991, she has been a full professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw. Since 1953, she has participated in about 350 group exhibitions, plein-airs, actions and symposiums and 38 solo exhibitions at home and abroad. Initially, her explorations were in the field of matter painting. A breakthrough for the artist's work was the 1st Elblag Biennial of Spatial Forms, where she realized a sculpture representing thinking about form in an intellectual and disciplined way. She was one of the main representatives of conceptualism, structural art and op-art in Poland. Her artistic activities include painting, drawing, spatial forms, theory and conceptual art.
