Roman Rabcewicz (1902-1998) - Polish painter, landscape painter associated mainly with southern Poland. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow from 1932 to 1939, in the studios of Władysław Jarocki, Teodor Axentowicz and Stanisław Kamocki.
In his work, he focused on the landscapes of Malopolska, primarily the environs of Nowy Sacz, Podhale and the Tatra Mountains - frequent motifs were winter views, mountain roads, town buildings and scenes with skiers (including "Ski Jump in Zakopane").
His paintings, usually painted in oil on cardboard or board, are distinguished by their moody colors and traditional realistic-impressionistic manner. Rabcewicz's works regularly appear on the Polish auction market, attracting the interest of collectors of twentieth-century landscapes.
