Natalia FUNDOWICZ (b. 1991, Krakow, Poland) Graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow-sketch painting, painting studio led by Prof. Adam Brincken and drawing studio led by Dr. Rafał Borcz. In 2014, 2015, 2016 she received the Rector's scholarship for the best students. Since 2013, she has actively participated in auctions and group exhibitions throughout Poland (Opole, Wroclaw, Katowice, Bydgoszcz, Krakow, Warsaw). She has also held 4 solo exhibitions, including 2 in London, where 2 articles/interviews were published in newspapers about her work ("Dziennik Polski" and "Nowy Czas") and in Vienna. She collaborates with a gallery in London.
Important to her is the creative process itself and its non-obviousness. Making some decisions takes hours, days, some just seconds, making the final effect dependent on a gesture, a momentary burst. However, once a decision is made, it remains forever, it cannot be repainted, washed away, corrected. This is what characterizes the water technique he uses. In his works, he uses a wealth of different techniques and modes of expression. In her paintings she presents traces of her journeys towards the affirmation of life. Affirmation of nature, femininity, body, motherhood. She sets what she sees on planes with delicacy and lightness of intense, though watercolor colors, while trying not to take away from their movement. On canvases and on walls, she creates maps of colorful signs and metaphorical forms placed as if in a state of weightlessness. They populate the space, escaping from the paintings, floating away, falling and blurring in the air and on the ground. They don't like closed frames, as well as a closed mind. The form she thinks about and seeks must be, a simulation of an inner experience, its synesthesia shape that defines her intention, which then shapes it into a work of art.
