MONA TUSZ
Since 2007, I have been working primarily in the field of street art; I have created approximately 100 murals. I have participated in numerous street art festivals and have co-organized and/or actively participated in national and international cultural and social projects. I have led many original street art and art workshops with seniors, youth, children, and socially marginalized groups, taking into account the specific characteristics of each location. In 2008, I completed a full-time master’s degree program at the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice, majoring in graphic arts with a specialization in printmaking, and earned a Master of Fine Arts degree.
In 2019, I received the Mayor of Katowice Award in the field of culture for “extraordinary, poetic murals created in Katowice, as well as for my community outreach, engaging numerous social groups in artistic projects.”
In 2020, I received a grant from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage to
continue the “Przyrodnik” project. As part of this never-ending project, I create works using various techniques, inspired by the extraordinary forms of living nature, its mechanisms, and properties—from herbs and trees, through mushrooms and lichens, to the animal kingdom. In addition to large-format and easel painting, I also work in the fields of installation art, printmaking, sculpture, set design, and photojournalism.
