Dimensions: 50 x 50 cm / technique: oil on canvas.
The painting is from a series of paintings dealing with the relationship between image and identity and society's current tendency to pigeonhole, define and give everything a specific framework. It explores the impact of how emphasis is placed on physical appearance on the detachment from and deformation of perception of one's own body, as well as the differences in perception of each individual. We will never have the ability to see ourselves the way others are able to see us, and no one will ever have the ability to see us the way we think we look.
