Damian Wojnowski, born in 1972 in Częstochowa. He is a trained glass decorator, musician, and occupational therapist. For years, he has been consumed by his passion for painting and his love of drawing. On a daily basis, he leads art therapy sessions with the elderly and people with intellectual disabilities. Through sculpture, painting, dance, music, and singing, participants in the therapy gain access to their inner selves: their emotions, needs, and fears. In addition, she leads creative workshops for children, teenagers, and adults, unleashing their creativity and sparking a passion for creation. As she says about herself, through her artwork she expresses herself—her own emotions, sensations, and moods—thereby revealing her own vision of reality combined with a generous dose of fantasy. In his paintings, he strives to reflect the intertwining of worlds and to capture the atmosphere and space of fantasy and dreams. It is also an attempt to capture the mood of the moment, to freeze time for an instant, and to imbue ordinary activities and objects with an element of magic. The world of his works is full of extremes. On the one hand, there is a fairy-tale-like, dreamlike setting; on the other, a real—and not always idyllic—reality. All of this intertwines in varying proportions, shaping the atmosphere and mood of the painting. Since 2015, he has been a member of the Silesian Faun Art Association, where he successfully pursues his passion by participating in numerous group and solo exhibitions. A number of his works are held in private collections both in Poland and abroad.
