1887 Warsaw - 1945 Broniszów
After a year at the Faculty of Architecture at the Lviv Polytechnic, he left for Munich in 1910 to study at the Academy of Fine Arts there. He returned to Warsaw after World War I. After the fall of the Warsaw Uprising, he was displaced to Broniszów. Nowakowski was primarily an illustrator. He designed posters, postage stamps and created series on folk costumes. However, he was mainly involved in satirical drawing. He worked for "Kolce", "Kurier Świąteczny', "Marcholt", "Mucha". During World War II he made series of satirical drawings of the life of occupied Warsaw. The largest collections of his drawings are in the National Museum in Warsaw and the Museum of Caricature in Warsaw.
