Andrzej Szewczyk, an unforgettable neo-avant-garde "erudite of sensibility," one of the most interesting Polish post-war artists, was born in 1950 in Szopienice, died in Cieszyn in 2001. He studied at the Institute of Fine Arts Education at the Faculty of Pedagogy and Arts at the Silesian University in Katowice Branch in Cieszyn (1974 - 1978). He practiced painting, sculpture, drawing, created art books, authored environments and artistic actions. He published theoretical and analytical texts. Since 1977, he belonged to the elite group of artists associated with Warsaw's Foksal Gallery. He practiced painting as a simple and basic activity, in which he discovered analogies to the process of writing.
Object - a painting in the shape of a rectangle close to a square, enclosed in a wooden frame in the form of a display case (glazed on two sides, the frame thick, giving the painting spatiality). In the display case, cardboard cut into the shape of a simple house, in the lower part painted with Paris blue paint. In the middle part - irregular convex forms in the form of spatial infiltration. In the upper part, the paint applied carelessly, reveals the natural color of the cardboard.
