In Warsaw he attended the Municipal School of Decorative Arts and Painting. He was a pupil of painter Czeslaw Wasilewski. Horses and atmospheric landscapes became a dominant feature in his work. In the interwar period, he participated in artistic life by exhibiting paintings in Warsaw galleries and exhibitions of Polish painting organized by his aunt Emilia Wołowska in the then Republic of Poland. After the war, he was active in Kujawy in Wloclawek. In 1960 he returned to Warsaw and painted mainly Warsaw subjects.
