Began his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice, where he was a student of Jerzy Duda-Gracz. In 1982, he moved to the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, where he received his diploma in 1984.
Together with Janusz Szpyt and Piotr Naliwajko, they formed the "Group of Three", known as the "Excessive Tercet".
In 1988, he received the Grand Prix of the National Exhibition of Young Art "Arsenal 88".
In the same year he leaves the country for Germany, where he stays for the next few years. This period was filled with intensive creative and exhibition work. Since 1990 he has been a member of the Association of Realist Painters - "Kunstlersonderbund in Deutschland. Realismus der Gegenwart" - an organization of figurative painters of an elite nature. Since 2009 a member of the Apelles group.
Currently lives in Belgium and Poland. He does painting - easel, plafond and fresco.
He has participated in the most important artistic events in Europe - including the BIAF Art Fair in Barcelona, the Basel Art Fair and the annual figurative painting exhibition "Figuration Critique" at the Grand Palais in Paris. More than 200 solo exhibitions, exhibitions of the "Excessive Tercet" and group exhibitions, in Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, the USA, Russia, Frnqtion, Switzerland, Italy, Belgium, England, Japan and Canada.
Zegalski's paintings are in the collections of well-known German and Swiss collectors.
He is the author of bold concepts for contemporary plafond painting in old palaces and estates in France, Sweden, Germany and Italy.
He has had solo exhibitions at, among others, Katarzyna Napiórkowska Gallery in Warsaw (2016), FUNKY Gallery in Warsaw with Joanna Sierko-Filipowska (2015), at ST. Geneview de Bois in France, Stadtgalerie Beuningen in the Netherlands, La Terazzaw Munich (2001) and more than two hundred other group and solo exhibitions in Poland and abroad.
