Kabuto:
A suji-bachi type kabuto helmet, constructed of 32 steel lamellae (ita), with prominent vertical ribs (suji). The surface of the laki (kuro-urushi nuri) is naturally cracked, and the color, according to the aging process, has now become chocolate brown. On the front, a large brass maedate in the form of a crescent moon (kuwagata-dai) and the family mark of kiri mon, made in repoussed copper. At the top, a central tehen hole with a metal tehen-no-kanamono decoration made of brass, covered with a natural patina.
Menpō:
Ressei-menpō mask of tense features, with natural bristle mustache and beard, with red lacquer inside, two-piece, with detachable nose. Attached to the mask below is a movable throat guard (tare). The mask bears traces of modern conservation and reconstruction of the nose.
Kirys:
A kiritsuke-kozane type breastplate, made of lacquer-covered horizontal fins, joined by lacing with navy blue ribbons. The epaulettes (sode) and hip protection (kusazuri) indicate the original set with the breastplate.
The set of protective elements additionally includes kote - armored sleeves with gauntlets, clad in lacquer-covered steel plates and spiked braid, as well as haidate (thigh guards) - probably later - and suneate (shin guards), original from the set.
The armor is preserved in good collectible condition, with a natural patina and uniform aesthetics. The style and technique correspond to the workshops of the Edo/Kansai region of the second half of the 18th century. The object has damage that is natural for the age, but does not affect the integrity of the armor.
