Victor Huster is considered one of the most outstanding contemporary medalists and coin designers in Europe. By the age of seventeen, he was creating his own medals and subsequently pursuing training in goldsmithing, engraving, jewelry design, and minting techniques. In 1977, he founded his own studio, which eventually brought him international recognition. Israel holds a special place in his oeuvre, where he worked as an independent artist in the 1980s. He designed, among other things, the famous 1 new shekel coin. A distinctive feature of his work is the exceptionally high relief, which gives the coins and medals the appearance of small sculptures. Huster is the author of numerous commemorative coins issued by Germany and Israel, and his works are held in the collections of renowned museums, including the British Museum in London and the Numismatic Cabinet in Berlin.
