Biography
In 2011, he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, Faculty of Painting, in the studio of Prof. Jarosław Modzelewski. He earned his Ph.D. at the Institute of Fine Arts at Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce.
Knut works in painting and drawing. He creates mainly subtle abstractions that echo the geometric movement while simultaneously expressing a desire to transcend it—to break free from the rigors of formula. The artist employs delicate tonal variations and a subtle color palette. His minimalist paintings also take the form of multilayered compositions, created through the gradual build-up and layering of colors over time, in a manner reminiscent of organic processes. He is guided by intuition and imagination. He is known for his explorations of the archives of forgotten or unknown masters of abstraction, focusing particularly on discovering the art of the 1960s and 1970s.
He lives and works in London.
