The 1960s in Kajetan Sosnowski's work could be considered advanced studies in chemistry, physics or optics. Since 1965, the painter creates a series of "Blank Paintings" - single-color paintings on which paint is applied and rubbed with fingers. Since 1965, he has been creating a series of "Polyptychs", where he juxtaposes canvases with different intensities of complementary colors while entering the issue of light phenomena. From there, it's only a step to the chemical paintings "Metalepseis" - works created since 1972, which were coated with cobalt oxide. These canvases react to atmospheric conditions such as humidity by changing their color properties.
