The mug stands on a low glass base and is topped with a pewter lid decorated with elaborate floral and geometric motifs. The figure of Germania near the handle draws particular attention. Her medieval attire, sword, and shield bearing a double-headed eagle indicate that she is the personification of Germany. The lid bears a commemorative inscription: Ludwig Bimn.. 3.9.94
