Glass beer stein with a pewter lid
An elegant, classic beer stein made of pressed glass, featuring an original pewter fitting with a hinge and thumb lever. The lid is topped with a faceted, conical cap with distinct facets, typical of 20th-century Czech production.
The body of the stein is adorned with vertical grooves that beautifully catch the light and highlight the clarity of the glass. The lid mechanism operates smoothly, and the pewter elements have retained their natural patina, adding to the item’s authentic character. The side bears a capacity marking of 1/4, in accordance with the practice of glassworks and metal workshops operating in the Czech Republic and Germany.
Steins of this type were popular in the Czech and Austrian regions, combining the tradition of metalworking with glassmaking. Today, they are valued as decorative collection pieces, but also as functional vessels with a historical pedigree.
