Marek Langowski is one of many recognizable Polish artists. His works are recognized by many connoisseurs of contemporary art. Langowski's paintings are often reminiscent of impressionist painting and are executed primarily using the putty technique. The author's main inspirations are his travels, especially those to Giacomo Casanova's hometown of Venice.
"Gondolas, lampposts, narrow streets and other Venetian accoutrements are extremely frequent in my oil paintings. Perhaps this is a kind of externalization of the romanticism dormant in me." - Marek Langowski says about himself.
A characteristic feature of oil paintings on canvas painted by Langowski, is the expressive texture and visible inspiration of Russian painting. The author has developed his own and unique style, which is his best calling card. In the artist's canvases a certain understatement is always left, a kind of space for the development of the viewer's imagination.
Outside of Venice, the painter often refers to marine art. Maritime themes seem to arouse an unusually high level of emotion in the artist, which is reflected in his work.
"The seas and oceans and the ships and sailing ships drifting on them have always fascinated me. Before I started transferring these images to canvas, I nurtured them in my own imagination." - says the artist.
Langowski's oil paintings are a combination of excellent technique, passion for painting and a kind of avant-garde. The works contain numerous emotions, but the artist does not impose a particular point of view on anyone, but rather suggests possible solutions.
