The featured work is a view from Czekiszki (near Kaunas). The work was created in 1882, probably during a stay in Lithuania with his father's family, which the artist visited regularly. The landscapes there became an inspiration for the painter. "Ryszkiewicz became best known as a genre painter, recreating with his brush countless rural and small-town scenes, sometimes from the life of the court, mostly placed in the landscape"
