Biography
Polish humorist illustrator, author of book illustrations, animated films, advertisements. He studied economics and law at the University of Poznan, from which he graduated in 1934. During his studies in 1932, he made his debut as a caricaturist in the magazine "Ilustracja Polska". During World War II he was in hiding in Cracow and Nowy Targ, and in 1947 settled in Katowice, where he drew for "Dziennik Zachodni". In 1960 he participated in the creation of animated films. He collaborated with daily and weekly newspapers: "Wróble na Dachu", "Kocynder", "Szpilki", "Polska", "Świat", "Dziennik Zachodni" and "Express Wieczorny", where for several decades, from 1948, he published a drawing series "Nasza Syrenka" (eight thousand drawings). Winner of many awards, he is a Knight of the Order of the Smile (1985).
