Letter "M" in signature consistent with other signatures of the artist. Also the drawing style is the same as other works. The artist was born near Szczecin. He was mainly a sculptor and designer of majolica in Kadyny. In Szczecin, he made many works, including the sculpture "Fight between Lapita and Centaur" and the statue of Sedina. He was married to Alicja Tonn from Naklo. This drawing shows soldiers in uniforms of the so-called "Jägers." Since the artist was active in Pomerania and Prussia, these are soldiers from Regiment No. 1 Graf Yorck from Szczytno or Regiment No. 2 from Chelmno and Greifswald. Few drawings by this artist have survived. There has been only one small drawing of his of two figures at auction in Germany in the last 25 years - D.A. Lempertz 2017 (€1,000).
