Biography
He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. He received his diploma in 1939 from the studio of Feliks Szczęsny Kowarski and Stanisław Ostoi-Chrostowski. From 1945 onward, for the next 25 years, he was associated with the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Wrocław, where he served as a professor and, for a time, as rector. He worked in printmaking, painting, and sculpture in ceramics and glass. He actively participated in the exhibition scene. He held more than a dozen solo exhibitions in Poland and abroad (London, Sofia, Prague, Vienna, Berlin, Budapest, Tel Aviv, Toronto, and others). He was the recipient of numerous awards and honors, including: the City of Wrocław Art Award, the Art Award of the Provincial National Council, medals from the Society of Friends of the Fine Arts, and a medal at the 4th International Ex-Libris Biennial in Malbork. He was an outstanding educator—among his students was Józef Gielniak.
