Biography
Polish painter, graphic artist and stage designer. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow in 1926. The artist's art was diverse, including illustration, printmaking and advertising art, but most focused on woodcuts of architectural and figural subjects. In 1927, he took a job as a stage designer at the Popular Theater in Krakow, and then at the Grand Theater in Poznan. In the early 1930s, he went to study in Paris thanks to a scholarship from the Ministry of Religious Denominations and Public Enlightenment.
